This Campfire we are featuring Members of The Routt County Search and Rescue.
What is The Routt County Search and Rescue?
We are a group of volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in any type of weather. We are sent out on rescues for injured or ill recreationalists. We are also called on searches for people who are completely lost, or for those who have become disoriented and just need some help and directions to get back to their car. The average mission takes 5 to 8 hours from start to finish. We conduct between 50 and 60 missions each year.
