This Campfire we are featuring Olympian and Us Ski Team Athlete Alumni from Steamboat Winter Sports Club.
David Lamb (SSWSC member from 1988-2005 in Alpine): David is a long time Steamboat local that grew up alpine skiing at Howelsen Hill. He is a Steamboat Mountain School (then Lowell Whiteman School) alumni well as a Denver University Pioneer. David skied for the Alpine US Ski Team from 1998 until 2008, he was also a member of the US Skier Cross Team. His two daughters are current SSWSC athletes!
Ben Berend (SSWSC member from 2000-2013 in Nordic Combined): Born and raised in Steamboat Springs, Ben spent his childhood at Howelsen Hill dreaming of someday competing in the Winter Olympics. He realized that dream by representing the United States in the 2018 Winter Olympics, becoming one of 100 Olympians from Steamboat Springs dating back to 1932.
